I’ve
been considering and weighing my options to help loosen my natural curls for a
long time. Yes I believe in being natural because that’s ultimately the best
way to keep your hair healthy as chemicals may have adverse effects. However,
because I don’t perm my hair often, my hair hasn’t been breaking off in anyway
apart from the usual detangle shedding at wash day. My hair is currently over
my shoulder and I am still continuing to grow it long. I am now looking into
the option of a Keratin treatment
perhaps and still weighing my options.
So what goes into a Keratin
treatment?
In
a nutshell, because hair is made of Keratin (protein), what the treatment does is
promote the Keratin in the hair by adding more, which results in a smooth
finish and less frizz. A Keratin hair straightening product will be applied to
the hair which will be accompanied by a flat ironing process to lock the
product into hair and activate it. For curls, the Keratin treatment will help smoothen and reduce the frizz so
whether or not you choose to wear your hair curly or straight, it will look
great and frizz free.
Process time
The
process to have the treatment is fairly long and you have to make sure that you
clear your schedule for the day and also take some reading material to keep you
occupied.
